Solo Everest challenge
TR GROUP of Companies managing director T.Ravichandran is the
man at the heart of the Mount Everest Solo Expedition for Charity 2006.
Ravichandran has been climbing for the past 4 years and has conquered many peaks
in the Himalayas including Mount Mera Peak and Gokyo Peak.
Ravichandran's plan is to carry corporate flags from sponsors and place them
at the summit of Everest.
The objective of the expedition is to raise funds for eight charitable organisations
including Persatuan Kanak Kanak Cacat Akal Selangor, Persatuan Kebangsaan Pekak
Malaysia, Tabung Bersamamu TV3, Bethany Homes Perak and Rumah Kebajikan Anbu
Illam & Karunai Illam.

The project is partly funded by the TR Group of Companies, the Ministry of
Youth and Sports and other sponsors including Gold's Gym and Blackmore.
Ravichandran has chosen to make his solo ascent from the Tibetan side, a route
that is said to be harder.
I am eager to start soon. I have no fear of mountaineering because it's something
that I have a passion for,said Ravichandran.
Ravi chose to go on a solo expedition because he wants the freedom and independence.
If you hike in a group, your schedule might be disrupted by other members, Ravi
explained. Ravi will begin his hike in March and is expected to reach the summit
by June.
